Rose-Hip Vital

So what is Rose-Hip Vital?

Rose-Hip Vital powder contains a patented compound which is activated during the patented drying process of the Rosehips used in Rose-Hip Vital (Rosa Canina). This active compound then acts as a natural anti-inflammatory.  The active compound was discovered 7 years ago in Denmark and is exclusive to the Rose-Hip Vital branded powder. Research indicates that the patented rosehip powder helps reduce joint pain and stiffness as well as improve flexibility and mobility.

How does it work?

A certain proportion of white blood cells are involved in the inflammatory process by ‘cleaning’ inflamed joints. However, in large numbers these cells can release toxic free radicals which further damage the joints. The more inflamed the joint becomes, the more white blood cells are attracted to it.

The active compound found in Rose-Hip Vital Canine actively discourages large numbers of white blood cells from accumulating in the joint and slows down the production of toxic free radicals. This helps to:

  • Reduce inflammation and joint damage.
  • Reduce joint pain and stiffness.
  • Reduce the consumption of traditional pain killers.
  • Improve general joint health and wellbeing.

The research

Results from a number of trials and scientific papers suggest that Rose-Hip Vital® Canine shows anti-inflammatory properties in dogs and works as a strong antioxidant.  One particular study aimed to test whether Rose-Hip Vital Canine might improve the immune response, working capacity and wellbeing of dogs.

Twelve weeks of treatment resulted in statistically significant improvements to the general wellbeing of dogs, with the study testing for motivation, mood, working capacity, cooperation, speed and fur quality.

Three-month treatment resulted in a significant decline in total white blood cell count – indicating that Rose-Hip Vital Canine works as an anti-inflammatory in dogs.

A number of other studies and trials have also provided further evidence of the effectiveness of the standardised Rosehip Powder.

How to administer

Rose-Hip Vital Canine comes in powder form and can be easily added to dry or wet food at mealtimes.  Recommended dosage suggests a higher initial does followed by a lower maintenance dose as part of a regular maintenance routine.
