Milbemax is recommended for treatment of mixed infections by gastro-intestinal worms in small dogs & puppies over 2 weeks of age and lactating bitches including:
Roundworms - Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina
Hookworms - Ancylostoma caninum
Whipworms - Trichuris vulpis
Tapeworm - Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Echinococcus spp., Mesocestoides spp.
Prevention of Heartworm - Dirofilaria immitis
Treatment of Gatro-intestinal worms:
Dogs & Puppies: Treat at 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks and then every month until 6 months of age; thereafter every 3 months or on veterinary advice.
Pregnant Bitches: Treat at mating, then 10 days before whelping, then every 3 months.
Prevention of Heartworms:
Give once a month orally. Veterinarian should be consulted before starting Milbemax to ensure that dog is heatworm free.
Dosage and Administration:
Milbemax is given orally to dogs at the minimal dose rate of 0.5 mg of milbemycin oxime and 5 mg of praziquantel per kg body weight
Milbemax for small dogs:
1/2 tablet treats 0.5-1kg
1 tablet treats 1-5kg
Composition:
Milbemax tablets for small dogs and puppies: a tablet containing 2.5 mg milbemycin oxime and 25 mg praziquantel.
