This great dematting tool splits mats for easy removal , and removes stubborn knots and tangles. Suitable for long-haired breeds.
Designed to Remove Matted, Tangled Hair
Place the blades of the dematting tool face down against the mat (so the teeth face outwards, and the blunt head is against the animal). Support the coat/skin above the mat with your free hand, and gently pull through using downward stroke(s). This action splits the mat into smaller clumps so that it can be brushed out more easily. Recommended for long-haired breeds.
Why Groom Your Cat?
Cats require different levels of grooming depending upon their coat type. Long-haired breeds will require more grooming than short-haired breeds, and older cats more than younger felines. All cats should be brushed or combed regularly to remove loose and dead hair. This reduces the likelihood of hairballs forming when cats clean themselves and it stimulates the production of healthy natural skin oils. A fine-toothed comb can also be used on cats to detect the presence of fleas. Cats should be introduced to the practice of grooming early in life so it becomes a normal part of their routine.
Frequent grooming of your cat will help keep shedding under control and will make your home a cleaner place.
